Part-Time Visual Art Teacher
Washington Preparatory School is seeking an exceptional part-time Visual Art Teacher who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. The ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction based upon best available research and practices in teaching and learning.
QUALIFICATIONS & DUTIES:
-A Bachelor’s degree or above in art education.
-Previous teaching experience preferred.
-Sets ambitious learning goals for all students, creates cognitively demanding tasks, and models the belief that that all students can master challenging material through effective effort.
-Assesses students’ understanding regularly with ambitious learning goals in mind and takes ownership of making necessary adjustments to instruction to reach goals.
-Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
-Organizational skills and comfort using a wide variety of art media, technology and approaches.
-Ability to integrate art concepts, artwork, art history, styles, and aesthetics with classroom units, concepts, and themes.
-Strong skills in leadership, organization, and instructional strategies including assessment of student learning.
