Washington Preparatory School is an International Baccalaureate Candidate school growing from a middle school to a 6-12 school with a 20-25% population of international students. As we grow, we are looking for an accomplished, highly qualified, teacher to join our faculty. English & Writing Teacher

 

Job Description:

Middle and High School: 6th – 10th grade
Four sections of English and Writing & One Elective course
Grade level Advisor

Education Background, experience, as characteristics:
· 4-year college degree in English-an MA and/or certification is preferred
· A minimum of three-years teaching experience in English and Writing; 6-12th grade level
· A focus on creating project-based, and constructive, learning experiences;
· Experience with common educational technology and software
· A demonstrated ability to meet the needs of a variety of learning styles;
· A collegial style of cooperation across disciplines and across grade levels;
· A willingness to explore new paths of personal and professional growth.

 

General Science & Chemistry Teacher

 

Job Description:

Middle and High School: 6th – 10th grade
Four sections of Science
Grade level Advisor

 

Education Background, experience, as characteristics:
· 4-year science degree, Biology, Chemistry or other;
· three years full-time teaching at the 6-12 level;
· a focus on creating project-based, and constructive, learning experiences;
· experience with common educational technology and software
· a demonstrated ability to meet the needs of a variety of learning styles;
· a collegial style of cooperation across disciplines and across grade levels;
· a willingness to explore new paths of personal and professional growth.

 

Preferred additional qualifications:
- an appropriate MA or MS and/or certification for one or more Sciences;
- experience with IB programs at either diploma or middle years levels;
- demonstrated self-motivation, integrity, and commitment to high professional standards.
