Jake previously worked as a particle physicist where they studied the intersection of fundamental physics and astrophysics until deciding to join WA Prep to pursue education. Studying the behavior of hypothetical particles in the vicinity of black holes was interesting but sharing their excitement for the esoteric and the strange became more important. Jake spends their free time continuing their own studies in mathematics, caring for their chickens and cat Smokey, learning to identify native plants with their horticulturalist partner, and lifting weights.
